FAQ - Export of Zinc Dross (HS Code 7902 0010) from Thailand


The advices from the officer of Department of Industrial Works are as follows.

Waste exporting from Thailand is mainly controlled under the Hazardous Substance Act and the Basel Convention. Waste clarification is necessary whether or not such waste is required an Export permit and Notification approval from the Competent Authority under the Basel Convention.Under Basel Convention Code, it is classified under green category vide Basel Code B1100.Basel Convention code for your reference (Please refer Page 81/82 & Page 84) Please access this link:metologicalguidee.pdf

We do a clarification based on:

1. Production process that generating such waste
2. Waste contamination any of Sb Be Cd Pb Se Te As Hg TlUnder list B, Annex 9 of the Basel Convention, galvanizing top/bottom dross (Zn>92%) are exempted from Notification approval, but Export license under the Hazardous Substance Act is a requirement.Unfortunately, other Zn containing and residue, we need clarification from importing country.
