On May 14, 2025, Mr. Jerdchan Arunrat, Director of the One Start One Stop Investment Center (OSOS), welcomed Miss Siriporn Narkjure,Investment Promotion Officer, Senior Professional Level, Thailand Board of Investment, Osaka Office, who led a delegation of Japanese investors to attend a briefing and visit the One Start One Stop Investment Center and the Visa and Work Permit Center.
The purpose of this meeting with the office was to explore investment opportunities in Thailand, receive policy-level information from government agencies regarding investment promotion, understand business procedures, and identify contact channels with relevant agencies in both Thailand and Japan. The visit also aimed to provide an opportunity for exchanging views on the potential and feasibility of doing business in Thailand. Key discussion topics included:
- Policies supporting the application of biotechnology knowledge at the industrial level to strengthen Thailand’s industrial sector in the areas of food and agriculture, pharmaceuticals and medical supplies, and the environment. This was presented by Dr. Warinthorn Songkasiri,Director of Biochemical Engineering and Systems Biology Research Group, National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC).
- Promotion, support, and development of life sciences entrepreneurs to enable them to enter the business sector or scale to the industrial level in a tangible way, including providing private sector consultation and access to life sciences knowledge. This was presented by Dr. Narisa Mantharngkul,Program Director, Advanced Medical Devices Technology & Medical Robotics, Thailand Center of Excellence for Life Sciences (TCELS), a public organization.
- Investment promotion measures for biotechnology development and industries related to the bioeconomy, presented by Dr. Sawitree Suwannasang, Senior Investment Promotion Officer, Investment Promotion Division 1.
