10 March 2023 - Mr. Narit Therdsteerasukdi, Secretary General of the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) joined other officials and executives including Mr. Liu Xueliang, general manager of BYD Asia-Pacific Auto Sales Division, and Wang Liping, minister-counsellor for economic and commercial affairs of the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, in participating to the groundbreaking ceremony held by electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer BYD for its first car plant in Thailand. The new plant, located in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) in Rayong province, is scheduled to start production in 2024 with an annual production capacity of 150,000 new energy vehicles. The factory’s output will be sold in Thailand, and other countries, including in the ASEAN region.
