On December 12, 2024, Mrs. Cherdchan Arunrat, Director of One Start One Stop Investment Center from the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), welcomed a delegation of 25 investors from the Shanghai Entrepreneurs Association of China to attend a briefing on the overall process of applying for investment promotion under the Board of Investment (BOI).
During the session, Khun Jedchan Arunnarat provided an overview of the BOI\'s responsibilities and offered guidance on establishing businesses to operate in Thailand. She also introduced the current industries eligible for investment promotion and presented examples of countries and businesses where foreign investors have established operations in Thailand. Additionally, she discussed special measures available for investment promotion, such as those aimed at enhancing competitiveness, promoting the relocation of businesses through comprehensive packages, and encouraging investment in targeted industries.
The session also included information about the BOI\'s office in the People\'s Republic of China, plans for expanding the BOI’s presence with one more office in China, and the introduction of a new visa type (LTR Visa) designed to attract foreign investors to Thailand. Furthermore, Khun Jedchan Arunnarat outlined the services offered by the BOI, including the Investment Service Center (OSOS) at Chamchuri Square HQ BIZ PORTAL and various online systems.
She also highlighted the role of the Thai Entrepreneur Development Division, which organizes industrial linkage activities and serves as a mediator for business matchmaking between manufacturers and buyers. The division is also involved in co-hosting the SUBCON Thailand event. Lastly, she provided information on how to contact the BOI\'s offices in China, located in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou. The delegation sought information on investment promotion in Thailand to assist in their decision-making process for expanding investments in the future.
